Baptist House - Occasional Receptionist

Salary: £13.00 per hour


With a very busy building, Baptist House currently has two receptionists who cover the working week.  This role is to provide support with the reception cover when they are on holiday, unwell or where extra support is needed.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Front-of-House Cover: Welcoming visitors in a professional, warm, and efficient manner. Ensuring Contractors on site have completed the necessary work permits.
  • Call Handling: Answering, screening, and forwarding phone calls, as well as taking accurate messages and managing the MS Teams switchboard
  • Appointment Management: Booking, cancelling, and rescheduling appointments using MS Teams and Outlook.
  • General Administration: Handling mail, sorting post, distributing courier deliveries, filing, scanning documents, and data entry.
  • Environment Maintenance: Keeping the reception area and waiting room tidy and presentable.
  • Operational Security: Assigning temporary and permanent security access cards. Carrying out specific duties in the event of emergencies.
Hours are not guaranteed, with shifts arranged as needed to cover absences. Typical shifts may be 8am to 4pm, 8am to 5pm, 1pm to 4pm.  The individual also has the right to decline requested ad-hoc hours.  Sometimes they will be looking for cover for half days or full days and on other occasions, with advance notice, they may be looking for cover for holiday periods of a week or two weeks.

BMS World Mission - Creative Content Manager (Maternity Cover)

BMS are looking for an exceptional writer and people manager for a maternity cover position, bringing their creativity to BMS World Mission as their Creative Content Manager (Maternity Cover).

As an experienced communications professional, you’ll set the tone for their stories and campaigns, writing your own standout copy and overseeing the story gathering and messaging for publications, video content and resources. You’ll brief, commission and coach an in-house Writer and Video and Photo Content Producer, as well as commissioning freelancers to keep BMS's voice consistent across every channel.

You'll love deadlines, feedback and supporter-centric fundraising as you communicate what God is doing through BMS World Mission.

You’re collaborative, curious about the world and passionate about ethical storytelling. If you can lead a team to research, collect and craft stories that captivate their audience and move them to act, they'd love to hear from you.

Cosham Baptist Church - Part-time Leader of Pastoral Care

CBC is a well-established Baptist Church with a Sunday morning congregation of around 180 people of all ages and many cultures.

They are looking for a committed Christian to lead the Pastoral support to the congregation and to oversee the ministry to their older members.

Specific responsibilities will be to oversee the training, development and support of a pastoral care team and to plan and facilitate opportunities for discipleship and spiritual growth among the older members.

The position will be part-time (20-30 hours per week) and will be a fixed term contract of up to 12 months with possible extension and reviews after 3, 6 and 9 months.

Hours will be flexible but core hours will be agreed.

The person will be accountable to the Leadership Team.

This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 10 of the Equality Act <a 2010.

BMS World Mission - Church Engagement Specialist

Do you want to help UK Churches engage with God’s mission throughout the world? Can you help BMS World Mission continue to make Jesus known and improve the quality of life for thousands of people? If you want to connect and enthuse churches with Jesus’ global mission, then BMS want to hear from you!

This role works with the Church Engagement Manager to create multiple points of connection for UK Churches and church-based volunteers to engage with BMS and with their story of mission. It will create and maintain relationships with churches and key Baptist leaders to help ensure they recognise BMS as an organisation which can take them deeper in their understanding of mission and global transformation.

For this role, knowledge of BMS’ supporter base, experience of the evangelical aspects of BMS’ mission and full support of its missionary work are crucial.

BMS are seeking a passionate Video and Photo Content Producer to help them tell powerful stories that inspire and engage. In this dynamic role, you’ll capture, edit, and produce high-quality video and photography that showcases their mission and connects with audiences across digital platforms and within churches. Working within the Fundraising and Communications department and liaising closely with the Department for World Mission, you’ll craft compelling narratives that show the impact of BMS' work around the world to UK supporters. You'll ensure they represent the dignity of the people they work with and tell their stories with accuracy and care.

If you’re creative, proactive, and organised this is your chance to make a real difference. You'll bring technical expertise in videography and photography and an ability to build relationships across teams and cultures. If creating content that matters excites you, BMS would love to hear from you. The role will be hybrid, based in Didcot, with overseas travel expected.
