At SCBA, we believe that equipping and encouraging leaders is a key part of how we resource our churches and communities. That’s why we offer a range of training opportunities and learning events throughout the year: designed to inspire, equip, and connect you with others across the Association.

Thanks to the generosity of Home Mission giving, all our training events are subsidised, making them accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a church leader, volunteer, or simply eager to grow in faith and ministry, we’d love you to join us.

Leading Together: Equipping Churches for Ministry

Whether you are a deacon, trustee, or part of a leadership team, this training day will give you the tools and confidence to help your church thrive. We’ll explore the role of trustees, Baptist values, making church meetings fruitful, planning worship and preaching, and how to share leadership together.

Join us for a practical and encouraging day of learning and discussion.

Audience:  Deacons, trustees, and church leaders (especially churches without a minister)

The day will run from 10:00am – 2:30pm (please bring your own lunch)

Saturday 7th March 2026 - Basingstoke Baptist Church
Saturday 14th March - Ryde Baptist Church, Isle of Wight
Saturday 14th March 2026 - John Bunyan Baptist Church, Oxford

In Conversation With ......

Join us for an inspiring series of evening online events where we sit down with experienced practitioners, leaders, and thinkers to explore different aspects of church ministry. Each session offers a chance to hear fresh perspectives, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversation about what it means to lead and serve in today’s church.

Whether you’re a minister, church leader, or simply curious about how we can grow in faith and mission together, these sessions are a relaxed and accessible way to learn, reflect, and be encouraged.

Creative Facilitation Training

This will be a day of training on how to hold space well, support community dialogue, and handle tricky moments with confidence and care.
Whether you're new to facilitating or have been doing it for years, this training is designed to give you tools, strategies, and support to equip you for your role.
Come connect with others, build your skills, and strengthen the spaces you help lead.

What we’ll cover:
·        Setting the tone for welcoming discussions that include all
·        Reading the room
·        Navigating conflict and tricky dynamics
·        Taking care of yourself as a facilitator

Tea & coffee will be served but please bring a packed lunch.
